File Preparation

Please use the following guidelines for file preparation

All PC text must be converted into outlines to avoid font problems.
If you are not using In-design or Quark-Xpress, if possible, use programs such as Illustrator or Photoshop and convert all text into outlines (if you do not know how to do this please call customer service at 407-877-7222 for an instruction sheet). If you are unable to do so, we suggest you use and supply postscript fonts(include screen and postscript font files) that are compatible with MAC to avoid any font problems that could occur.

Note: Carefully choose your fonts. Use post script fonts instead of true type fonts to reduce running the risk of pixilated text. Do not use any control options or alt options when typing your text. This may cause improper characters.
Original 300 dpi(dots per inch) images at no larger than 100% of the actual image size must be used and provided with file. Note: Be careful when choosing your photography and clipart, to make sure they are at least this high of a resolution. DO NOT USE WEB IMAGES. Lower resolution images will result in blurry, pixilated and low quality prints, which reflects extremely poor quality.
All photographs and vector art images must be supplied in EPS format. Illustrations that are NOT vector art are to be supplied in TIFF format. Note: DO NOT use compressed file formats, such as JPEG and GIF. This will crash the image setter, which will incur additional charges. Upon request, Daily Graphics will convert these files at an additional charge.
Four color process jobs must be provided in CMYK(no web, RGB, spot or any other colors other than CMYK will be considered accurate). Spot color jobs must be provided in Spot PMS colors(no web, RGB, process colors or any other colors other than PMS Spot will be considered accurate).
Files must be properly trapped(methods are choking, spreading, knockout and overprint). Note: If files are not properly trapped, text may not show up on film output and prints, colors may print out incorrectly, text may appear blurry and other problems such as these may occur. Upon request, Daily Graphics will provide this service at an additional charge.
If your price includes bleeds, they must be extended outside your document(standard bleeds are 1/8″. If in doubt, call for customer customer service at 407-877-7222 for bleed dimensions). Depending on your file imposition, cropmarks should be placed accurately for cutting. Note: If this is not done correctly, this will cause your prints to be cut incorrectly. Upon request, Daily Graphics will provide this service at an additional charge.
You are responsible to impose the pages in your file in the correct layout for the press sheet. This is especially important with books and folders. For an imposition diagram call customer service at 407-877-7222. Note: If this is not done correctly, it will cause your printing to come out incorrectly. Upon request, Daily Graphics will provide this service at an additional charge.

1. Copy of original program file you created it in with a note indicating what program/programs you used.
2. Include all fonts used (postscript fonts suggested to avoid pixilation. Please include screen and
postscript font files. see TEXT/FONTS).
3. Include original digital images (images should NOT at any time have been under 300 dpi or
larger than 100% of the actual image size. DO NOT use web images, because they are optimized for the
web only at 72 dpi, which is screen resolution, and not for print).
4. Include an exported EPS(encapsulated post script) file if possible.
5. In addition provide a color printout and separations of your file, to show what your file and separations
should look like.

Note: If you are using programs such as Publisher, Microsoft Word or Power Point, using certain clipart and fonts out of these programs run the risk of pixilation (see TEXT/FONTS and IMAGES/RESOLUTION to avoid this possibility).

I Have Received And Reviewed The Above Information On These File Preparation Sheets.

A printout of your file and file separation printouts are recommended to be sent with file for accuracy.

I understand if my files are NOT properly prepared and provided as specified above:

Electronically transferred file submission is accepted, however, NOT recommended due to instability:
